Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how WattaWave, Inc. (“WattaWave,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our platform, website, and services. By using WattaWave, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when creating an account, completing your profile, making a booking, or communicating through the platform. This includes your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, government-issued ID (for identity verification), payment information, and any other information you choose to provide.

We also automatically collect certain information when you use WattaWave, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, device identifiers, and activity logs. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your interactions with our platform, including pages visited, features used, and search queries.

If you connect a third-party account (such as Google), we may receive information from that provider, including your name, email address, and profile picture, in accordance with your privacy settings on that platform.

2

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve WattaWave. This includes processing bookings and payments, facilitating communication between renters and boat owners, verifying user identities, and providing customer support. We also use your information to send booking confirmations, trip reminders, review requests, and other transactional communications necessary to the operation of the platform.

We may use your information to personalize your experience — for example, recommending boats based on your past searches or bookings, or displaying listings relevant to your location. We also use aggregated, de-identified data to analyze usage patterns, improve our algorithms, and develop new features.

If you opt in to marketing communications, we may use your email address to send promotional newsletters, platform updates, and special offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings.

3

Information Sharing

We share limited information between renters and boat owners as necessary to facilitate bookings — for example, a renter's first name and profile photo may be shared with an owner upon booking confirmation, and an owner's contact details may be shared once a booking is confirmed. We do not share your full personal information (such as your phone number or address) unless both parties have mutually agreed to a booking.

We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate WattaWave, including Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Sentry (error monitoring), and cloud infrastructure providers. These providers access your information only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We will disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of WattaWave, our users, or the public. We will never sell your personal information to third-party advertisers.

4

Cookies

WattaWave uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and session storage) to maintain your login session, remember your preferences, and analyze how our platform is used. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. Analytics and preference cookies help us improve the experience and can be managed through your browser settings.

We use first-party cookies for authentication tokens, search filters, and user preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or allow external ad networks to place cookies on our platform. If you disable cookies, some features of WattaWave may not work correctly, including the ability to stay logged in.

5

Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. WattaWave uses industry-standard security measures, including 256-bit TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and JWT-based authentication with short expiry windows. Payment data is processed exclusively through Stripe — we never store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers.

We conduct regular security audits, apply rate limiting to prevent abuse, and use Sentry for real-time error monitoring to detect and respond to issues quickly. Access to user data is restricted to employees who need it to perform their job functions, and all staff access is logged and reviewed.

Despite our efforts, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@wattawave.com.

6

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable data protection laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; the right to object to or restrict processing; and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@wattawave.com.

You may update your profile information at any time through your account settings. If you wish to delete your account, you can do so from the Account Settings page. Deleting your account will anonymize your personal information while preserving records necessary for legal and tax compliance. Some information may be retained in backup systems for a limited period.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7

Children's Privacy

WattaWave is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@wattawave.com so we can take appropriate action.
